Threshold is the debut album from My Other Me. Twelve tracks of heavy-hitting gothic-industrial rock, fused with influences of many other genres...because, why not?! Lyrically, this project is exploring the same territory as the books and the YouTube channel, being identity, consciousness, transformation, and the gap between who you know yourself to be and the infinite power of who you truly are.

The album started many years ago with Xian writing and recording tracks in his home studio without vocals, as he couldn't sing them in the way he wanted the music to sound. He unsuccessfully tried on numerous occasions to put a band together, but he was never able to find other musicians who shared this vision. Darker music tends to invite more pessimistic people who want to moan about life and/or religion, and spiritual seekers tend to fear and avoid darker music lest it taint their purity. The music side of the project was, therefore, left dormant while Xian turned his attention to writing books.

Fortunately, the more recent developments in digital intelligence (AI) allowed Xian to utilize virtual vocalists for his songs (they tend to be less picky about joining a band), reviving the project and integrating into the project as a whole. The characters of Oliver and Olivia Darkmoor were born and became the virtual front of the band.

This is certainly not music for everyone, but after experiencing the cheese and clichés in most empowering music out there, Xian felt something different was in order. He was only too happy to oblige.

The music is meant as an accompaniment to the whole My Other Me project. It's here to present these ideas through an alternative genre. Basically, it's music Xian likes with lyrics that uplift rather than get you down. It is not a band in the traditional sense, as it's just one guy and some virtual singers, so don't expect a tour anytime soon!
